An exciting and practical reality for dental implant treatment planning. Using the CEREC CADCAM a digital impression is made of the patients teeth. Specially designed software is used to create digital teeth which can be exported into a 3D scan of the patient. The digital teeth are used to optimize dental implant placement both within the bone as well as for the anticipated restoration. Once the the placement is confirmed a surgical guide is fabricated from the digital data which allows the surgeon to place the implant in the patients body exactly as planned on the 3D scan. The consistency and accuracy of this technique is unsurpassed. The carousel below demonstrates the process using actual screen shots from a recent case.
This is fantastic technology. The guess work is taken out of the game. Congratulations.
